Overall Thoughts:

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
It's a bit of a fifty-fifty split, if I'm honest. I'm not surprised that I wrote very little after I started college, but I'm disappointed that I didn't write more before I started.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
Uh, not a single one, but probably straight-up Dean/Gabriel for the pairing and probably Band of Brothers from the fandom side.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
I think writing Band of Brothers and Generation Kill fic were pretty big risks, and probably my Gabriel/Dean fic, although I really enjoyed doing them all, so they definitely paid off. I think I learned that, as much as I love the SPN fandom, brancing out was probably the right thing to do.

My best story of this year:
Either Underneath Your Skin (although I think there are some shaky bits that I'll probably edit the hell out of when I eventually finish it) or Set the Truth on Fire

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Probably Red Right Hand. It's nothing like most of the things I've written, it's gen, but I love it.

Most fun story to write:
The Trick is to Keep Breathing. It's Brad and Ray in the apocalypse!

Story with the single sexiest moment:
Uh, by 'sexy' do you mean 'awkward'?

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Underneath Your Skin in terms of plot because, if you've read it, you'll know that between what is implied and what is said, there are some pretty fucked up things in that fic. And it's not even finished. Kink-wise, probably An Endless Moment because, although I find breathplay fascinating, I didn't think I'd ever write a fic with it.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
The Trick is to Keep Breathing, probably because I watched Generation Kill a huge number of time while writing it, so it wasn't so much the fic that shifted my perceptions, but writing it while rewatching Generation Kill. If that makes sense...

Hardest story to write:
Underneath Your Skin. Not only is it pretty depressing, but the research can be very, very distressing, especially some of the things... Let's just say that it's not something you want to write or research when you're trying to learn a lot of things in a short space of time.

Biggest Disappointment:
That I didn't manage to finish Underneath Your Skin.

Biggest Surprise:
That I wrote Band of Brothers fic. And Webster/Liebgott to boot! I was unbelievably nervous about writing it.

Favorite Opening Line(s):
The first time, it’s awkward and rushed, the slide of fingers across skin and the hitch of his breath against Webster’s neck.
-- Set the Truth on Fire

Favorite Closing Line(s):
In the middle of Iraq, mind full of dead bodies and destroyed homes, Walt remembers that he thought there has to be more, and, trying to stop Ray from hogging the covers, knows that he was right.
-- Giving My Secrets Away

Story I haven't yet written, but intend to:
I'm sort of planning to write an Adam Carter/Lucas North fic (Spooks).

Fic-writing goals for 2012:
I want to finish Underneath Your Skin, write a bunch of Generation Kill fics and hopefully some Band of Brothers fics as well.
