Okay, first of all, if you haven't seen The Losers, see it as soon as possible. It's brilliant. It has Jeffrey Dean Morgan in it, which should be enough of a reason to get at least some people on my flist to watch it. :-)

Second, Cougar/Jensen is my favourite non-Supernatural pairing. I love it so much. (And Clay/Aisha is cute as well.)  :-)

Read all of [livejournal.com profile] maratonista's fics. I love it all. I love the gen, I love the Cougar/Jensen fics. In short, the fics are brilliant.

Title: Starting From Zero, Got Nothing To Lose
Author[livejournal.com profile] softshinythings
Rating: PG13 (will probably go up because that’s just how I roll)
Genre/Pairing(s): AU!high school/college, eventual Sam/Gabriel, Dean/Castiel
Wordcount: ~4800 (this part, WIP)

Warnings: None
Disclaimer: Oh, but I can dream of what I would do with these characters if they actually belonged to me. Sadly, they’re just dreams, the Kripster gets the credit.
Summary: Part 1 of the Fast Car 'Verse. When John insisted that Dean was to attend college, Dean drove halfway across the country with his best friend Cas in tow. But when Sam finds that he can’t handle the way John is without his eldest around, he finds solace in Cas’ brother, who doesn’t ask questions but always offers an escape route.

Read it. Seriously, it's absolutely brilliant and the song it's named after will be stuck in your head for ages after you listen to it.

One of the best vids I've ever seen. Contains spoilers for Band of Brothers, obviously.

Wow, a post with only a rec in it. O_O

Seriously, though: It's brilliantly written, one of the best AUs I've read and one of my favourite fics out of all the ones I've read. It's also the only RPF-type fic that I've ever read. Uh-huh. Really.

 Title: Where The Ladder Starts
Author: [livejournal.com profile] moorishflower
Fandom/Pairing: Supernatural; Sam/Gabriel, background Jared/Richard
Rating/Warnings: NC17; warning for infidelity, bizarre melding of the real and the fictional, and a mostly unrealistic depiction of post-traumatic amnesia.
Wordcount: ~ 27000

Summary: After losing his fiancee in a fire, Sam Winchester packs up everything he needs, sells everything he doesn't, and moves from sunny Stanford to loud and muggy Philadelphia, where he uses what little money he has left to open a bookstore. There he meets Becky Rosen, fan of the popular Supernatural comic series and aspiring writer, and the two become good, if unlikely, friends. But as Becky begins to write her first ever fantasy romance novel, Sam's life takes a turn for the fictional when he finds an amnesiac man in an alley near his store.

Holy shit, Rebel, Rebel! Why have I only just started reading this? How did I manage to miss it?

Dean Winchester has never been a normal high school student. Helping his private detective father out with cases has given him a questionable skill set and a world-weary attitude. Everything goes from bad to worse however when his small town is rocked by murder, and the more Dean tries to find the truth, the more secrets he unearths.
Read it, if you haven't already.
